ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The nursing program at Normandale Community College is seeking a faculty member to join our team. We are an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited program with full accreditation through 2024. Normandale nursing students are dually admitted to Metropolitan State University to provide seamless access to a BSN education. Our program is committed to providing quality instruction and services to students of all ages and backgrounds.
ABOUT THE POSITION
We are currently seeking two fulltime faculty members to join our nursing faculty. The individuals selected for the positions will provide student instruction in the classroom, skills lab and clinical setting. We champion the development of our faculty and welcome applications from clinically experienced nurses new to the academic setting.
Master's degree with a major in nursing, nursing administration, nursing education, public health nursing or a nursing clinical specialty
Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse at the professional level
At least one year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years
Current Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license
Experience teaching in an Associate Degree Nursing program
Experience teaching family/community, geriatrics, or medical surgical nursing
Recent clinical practice experience
Demonstrated experience with curriculum development including concept based learning and active classrooms
Experience in assessment of student learning outcomes
Ability to work with a diverse student body or diverse patient population
Ten clock hours of education preparation in principles and methods of evaluation
Familiar with incorporating technology into instruction
