Assistant Professor, In-residence Faculty Position
The UConn Graduate Program in Public Health is recruiting a full-time, in-residence Assistant Professor (this 12-month position does not lead to tenure) to teach and conduct research on topics of health system administration, health system finance and/or health policy and advocacy. We seek applicants who are capable of both leading graduate-level courses within our CEPH-accredited Public Health Program and building a sustainable and relevant research program. Initial appointment to this position at full salary is for 2 years, with renewal contingent upon demonstration of success as an instructor and funded researcher.
UConn Health's Department of Community Medicine and Health Care, where the appointment will be made, directs the University's Public Health Program and is a key contributor to the School of Medicine's medical and dental curriculum. Our department maintains extramural research and service programs on substance abuse, chronic disease, health behavior, and global health and enjoys extensive associations with national, state and regional health agencies. The successful candidate for this position will teach our MPH-required Health Administration course, design and deliver elective courses for both graduate and undergraduate students, participate through committee assignments in the life of the university and seek extramural funding that expands our curriculum and research on topics of health administration. An earned doctorate in health care management or administration, health services research or business administration is desired. Persons with experience relevant to the elimination of health disparities are preferred.
