The Department of Surgery, Division of Ophthalmology at Denver Health is seeking a full-time optometrist to join one of our community-based health centers, Federico F. Pena Family Health Center. The hours for this position are 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday. This multidisciplinary clinic includes primary care, podiatry, dental, women’s care, a pharmacy, and an urgent care facility. As the optometrist at this clinic you will work closely with the other eye care providers at Denver Health’s main campus as well as providers in other specialties from all other health centers to provide cohesive patient care. This eye clinic allows for a great diversity of exams including routine adult and pediatrics, urgent care visits/consults, and consultations from primary care providers.
The Division of Ophthalmology at Denver Health is part of a fully integrated network of 9 community health centers, 17 school-based clinics, and a Level I 525-licensed bed hospital with a mission of providing access to quality preventive, acute, and chronic health care for all citizens of Denver, regardless of ability to pay. Our ophthalmologists provide comprehensive medical and surgical care with specialists in retina, glaucoma, pediatrics, and cornea. Denver Health is affiliated with the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, serving as a teaching location for ophthalmology residents along with fellows in cornea, oculoplastics, pediatrics, glaucoma, and retina. The department features a full support staff of certified ophthalmic technicians assisting in ancillary testing and comprehensive diagnostic imaging.
Optometrists interested in practicing optometry in a dynamic, state-of-the-art health care delivery system are encouraged to apply. Optometrists with 2+ years’ experience preferred.
