The Alumni Relations Coordinator works with and reports to the Senior Director of Alumni and Constituent Relations. This position is embedded within an academic College and works directly with the Dean of the College, Associate Dean(s), Chairs of the respective programs within the College, and the Development Officer assigned to the College by University Advancement. The Alumni Coordinator will work collaboratively with development staff and event staff within the College to advise and make recommendations on logistical and program elements to help ensure an effective alumni engagement and moves management program is sustained.
The Alumni Relations Coordinator creates new and manages existing alumni relations programming by fostering collaborative relationships that help to illuminate the alumni network and provide professional development opportunities for existing students. The Coordinator provides a primary point of contact for Faculty, Students and Alumni in order to facilitate a College wide mentorship program. The Coordinator also helps to support deeper alumni engagement with the educational experience by working with faculty to coordinate classroom visits and internship opportunities.
- Develop relationships with college-based alumni locally and nationally to promote participation and leadership in the college's alumni network; support volunteer management of the college alumni network and help coordinate volunteer leadership meetings to advance college-based alumni outreach and engagement. - Leverage the College's alumni network to plan and direct a comprehensive College based mentorship program with a case load of 100-125 students including: introductions and pairing alumni and students and advising students on informational interviews and resume development. - Execute on annual alumni programs from ideation through implementation; types of programs include but are not limited to: networking, professional development, alumni panel discussions, faculty lectures, college-based alumni and student engagement activities, international alumni relations, and industry site visits. - Collaborate with Development and Marketing staffs and academic department chairs to ensure mutual understanding and support of initiatives and priorities. - Communicate with network leadership regularly regarding college-wide and alumni association initiatives and events including recruitment, orientation, and sendoff programs. - Manage budgets for College specific alumni programs and college-based alumni network. - Identify outstanding alumni worthy of college- and university-wide recognition through various awards programs, driving nomination calendar and process in cooperation with the dean's office, the alumni association, and college's development staff. Partner with industry specific professional organizations through select local, state and/or national meetings, events and/or professional conferences. - Work with alumni association leadership to develop and execute on annual and long-term strategic goals to provide inclusive and diverse engagement opportunities that connect college-based alumni to fellow alumni, students, the college and association. - Proactively report on progress and challenges in annual and long-term goals, and assist the Senior Director of Alumni & Constituent Relations as requested in budget, personnel, and program development matters. - Be a partner to the college's development staff by being an active participant in the cultivation process; identify and engage prospects and steward alumni donors through outreach and engagement efforts. - Collaborate with development staff to help foster support and engage alumni donors and prospects through targeted alumni relations programs. - Generate contact reports for interactions with alumni donors and prospects to support fundraising efforts. - Inform alumni querying processes for targeted communications to college and academic program specific alumni networks and ensure data integrity for the central alumni database and other key data sources. - Advise on content for relevant college-based alumni communications including electronic communications, web content, print brochures, invitations, and letters. - Represent the college's alumni relations program at various internal and external functions through targeted outreach and engagement efforts. - Participate with industry specific professional organizations, specifically CASE. - Form strong working relationships with important internal and external partners related to the College including the college's professional staff and faculty. Serve as a resource for academic department inquiries and requests related to alumni relations. - Participate in overall alumni association programming and initiatives, as directed. - Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's Degree or any combination of education and experience which clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.

Demonstrated ability to coordinate volunteers and staff members to achieve intended program outcomes.
Experience in establishing programs and services that align and support organization mission and goals.

Knowledge of marketing, public relations and special event planning, methods and techniques.
Experience developing or managing mentorship programs and relationships.
Proficient computer competencies in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Master's Degree in Higher Education, Finance, Communication, Public Relations or related field.
Professional work experience in a higher education setting.
Experience in alumni relations or development.
Experience overseeing or directing mentorship programs.
Knowledge of higher education Board policy/procedure.
Knowledge of marketing, public relations and special event planning, methods and techniques.
Excellent organizational skills, presentation skills and communication skills (both oral and written).
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office setting with frequent in-person interaction. It is essential to be able to meet the physical demands of remaining at a desk/computer work station for prolonged periods of time, using repetitive arm, hand and finger movements. Some stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying or moving of objects and other movements may be required. Must be able to o attend meetings and events during evening and weekend hours; requires some travel. Valid driver's license required for travel.
