Morgan Stanley Research is seeking an analyst to assist with data analysis and reporting for North America Equity Research Management. This person will be responsible for generating standard and ad-hoc reports on analyst and client metrics to assist management, research teams and equity sales in decision-making. Candidates must be able to organize and analyze large sets of data to distill information into clear summaries for senior research management. The role involves using creativity and problem-solving skills to respond to inquiries with data-driven analysis, and effectively communicate results to management, research analysts, and sales. The analyst will also collaborate with research technology on reporting and other projects. The analyst will have the opportunity to use analytic skills to help drive behavior and quantify results in the equity and equity research business.
Skills Required - 4 year Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a related field - business, math, computer science, statistics - Advanced Excel skills (VBA/automation, pivot tables, complex formula building) necessary; PowerPoint skills; Business Objects skills a plus; Microsoft Access skills a plus - Excellent oral and written communication skills; the ability to convey information with clarity - Interest in learning about the equity and equity research business - Thorough attention to detail - Excellent analytical skills - Comfortable learning new systems and technologies - Strong problem-solving skills - Ability to manage multiple projects at once - Ability to meet tight deadlines - Eagerness to learn and be proactive in asking for guidance or direction - Desire to work as a team
