ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Health department at Normandale Community College is seeking a faculty member. Our program is committed to providing quality instruction and services to students of all ages and backgrounds. We offer an AS in Community Health, an AAS in Healthcare Systems Technology, a Community Health Worker Navigator certificate, partnership programs with universities and concurrent enrollment with local high schools.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The candidate will teach a variety of health department courses available day, evening, weekends, and online. Courses include Contemporary Health Issues, Drug Use and Abuse, Health Professions Terminology, First Aid and CPR, and Stress Management. Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of and experience in, teaching assessment of student learning outcomes. Candidate must be able to participate in departmental initiatives involved in activities across disciplines, curriculum development, and participate in college wide committees. Faculty are expected to maintain ongoing professional development activities.
Master's degree in health OR a master's degree with a minimum of 27 graduate quarter/18 semester credits in health
Minimum two years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level
Current certification in American Heart Association CPR at the instructor level
Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
Experience in teaching methodology and assessment of student learning outcomes
Commitment to the integration of service learning and learning communities
Familiarity with various teaching/learning technologies used to facilitate the teaching/learning process
Familiarity and experience with the development and teaching of online courses
Experience teaching Health Prevention/Promotion
Interest and knowledge of Complementary and Integrative Medicine
