The Ohio State University invites applications and nominations for the position of dean and director of Ohio State Mansfield. The dean and director is the administrative leader of the Mansfield campus, has faculty status, and works collaboratively and consultatively with faculty, staff, and university administrators. The Mansfield campus seeks a dynamic, energetic leader with a record of accomplishment in building strong collaborations and coalitions, who has been successful in creating a shared vision, advocatingfor their organization, and who is prepared to engage in critical discussions and decision-making that will positively impact faculty, staff, students, and the community.
Ohio State Mansfield is one of four regional campuses, in addition to the Columbus Campus and the Agricultural Technical Institute at Wooster, that comprise The Ohio State University. Over 66,000 students are enrolled at all six campuses, with 1061 attending the Mansfield campus. The Mansfield campus shares a campus and some facilities and costs with North Central State College, an independent two-year state college.

The faculty at Ohio State Mansfield consists of 39 tenure-track faculty, who are affiliated with departments based in Columbus and are held to the same high standards as all Ohio State faculty for tenure and promotion, and 50 associated faculty who are highly recognized for their dedication to students. This means that Ohio State Mansfield students learn from professors who are at the forefront in their academic fields, and many students are involved in research, which helps them build their résumés for the job market or for graduate school. Ohio State Mansfield offers 10 bachelor's degree programs and the MA program in early and middle childhood education. Outside the classroom, the campus offers over 15 student clubs and organizations, as well as intramural and varsity sports. The dean and director will report to the executive vice president and provost. The ideal candidate will have effective, positive interpersonal skills and strong leadership ability, and will be deeply committed to providing a university education in a regional setting, working to improve the success of underrepresented and first-generation college students.
Among other qualifications, the next dean and director must possess: a doctoral degree or other terminal degree; experience as a dean, director and/or chair of an academic unit and/or campus (preferred); a distinguished record of research and teaching; demonstrated leadership and administrative ability; a strong commitment to success in building diversity; demonstrated experience with community service, outreach, or engagement; demonstrated experience with fundraising; the ability to meet the requirements for tenure, preferably at the full professor level, in an academic unit at Ohio State.
