This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Administrative Program Specialist position for the College of Pharmacy at Oregon State University (OSU).
The College of Pharmacy contributes to the improvement of public health and welfare through dissemination, expansion and application of knowledge.

This employee supports the work of the Office of Experiential Education. The employee assists the Assistant Dean of Experiential Education and Director of Early Experiential Education, interacts with other faculty and classified staff, pharmacy preceptors and students to assist in arranging and monitoring student experiential rotations, Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPE) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPE), each academic year. This involves utilizing a database program to match student needs with that of pharmacy preceptors, managing communications related to final scheduling, and coordinating preparations for both students and preceptors prior to the rotation. Maintaining and updating the files associated with student placement, site development, affiliate agreements and preceptor training are other duties for which this employee is responsible.
Travel between the Corvallis and Portland offices, perhaps several times each year, is necessary. There also will be infrequent evening meetings and/or workshops for preceptors, generally each quarter of the academic calendar.
Two years of experience as an administrative specialist or executive support specialist which included administrative support for a project, program, or operation. Administrative support includes those duties beyond clerical/secretarial such as: interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations; administrative data collection and analysis; and evaluation of projects, processes, and operations; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. One year of postsecondary education may be substituted for up to one year of the experience.
Ability to prepare and execute contracts.
Experience utilizing and manipulating databases any student management program used to maintain student and preceptor information.
Ability to document and resolve problems within a database.
Ability to interpret terms and conditions for a specific educational program.
Ability to explain complex procedures to students and other constituencies to assure compliance with rules, regulations, and policies.
Skill using Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, Access).
Possess effective written and oral communication skills.
Possess well-developed interpersonal skills and have the ability to work as a member of a team.
This position requires driving a University vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the University; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions (as per Voluntary and Compulsory Driver Standards OSU Standard 125-155-0200) as per OSU 576-056-0000 et seq.
