This position will support the above mission by providing comprehensive and compassionate care for patients and their families with a focus in sickle cell. Will also provide a mix of direct clinical care and didactic and bedside teaching for students, residents and fellows.
1.Teaching Faculty member will have teaching responsibilities in the area of pediatric hematology and oncology. Faculty member will provide guidance and mentorship to students, residents and fellows.
2.Research Faculty member will participate in clinical, translational and/or outcomes research.
3.Service Faculty member will serve on departmental or School of Medicine level committees when appropriate, and engage in professional association activities.
4.Clinical Faculty member serve as a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist with a focus in Sickle Cell with inpatient service and outpatient clinic duties, to include night and weekend call.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology
Experience with education of house-staff, medical students, and others
Previous experience in an academic medical center
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
