SENIOR, PROGRAM SPECIALIST, FULL TIME – PALATINE, IL
The Able Career Institute (ACI) Program serves as the training coordinator and program/case management for skills training activities. Reporting to the ACI Program Manager, incumbent oversees client progression through all steps of training and completion. Incumbent then guides client to Account Manager to introduce employment referrals and opportunities. In addition, he/she serves as a liaison between client and provider in the resolution of technical support issues and provides ongoing academic and employment coaching for clients.
Works with ACI team and instructors through steps of client referral, enrollment, training, completion and potential employment opportunities
Upon client entry into program, work with instructor to assess program progress, provide academic counseling, goal setting, entry of case notes, and internal and external performance reporting.
Process all enrollment and funding paperwork for new students
Work with proctor to schedule certification testing
Work with IT department to manage certification exam software and systems and act as back-up proctor for certifying students
Provide regular progress and attendance reports to clients’ career coach as mandated by funding program
Serve as a liaison between client and provider in the resolution of technological support issues
Facilitate cohort kickoffs and coordinate career transitions workshops with training team
Participate in developing/promoting additional training services for ACI clients
Continually review and evaluate all phases of client training process and make recommendations to Program Manager and team regarding procedures, policies, staff training and development, and procurement of additional resources, equipment or services.
Work with appropriate staff to maintain and submit accurate, timely and complete data for internal and external reporting regarding clients’ progress through all phases of the program.
Perform other duties as required and assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated success developing and implementing education strategies and producing successful training and placement outcomes.
Advanced computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
Prior experience automating systems and establishing/maintaining databases ideal.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to interact and develop rapport with a diversified population of business leaders, government agency personnel, funders, partners, staff, and clients.
Service-oriented, flexible, self–starter with a solid work ethic who can manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
High integrity, initiative, outstanding organizational skills, clear attention to detail and the ability to follow-through.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in education/social work/human resources or related field
Minimum five years’ adult education/training experience or case management. Previous workforce training experience is a plus.
Must be able to work occasional weekends and evenings when necessary.
Must be able to travel specifically in the DuPage and Lake counties
Must have a valid driver’s license and immediate access to an insured vehicle.
