The faculty member will work as a team member in the Respiratory Care Program. Responsibilities include teaching theory in the classroom and the supervision of students in the clinical area and laboratory. This position requires professional responsibilities and activities including student advising, attendance at all department and team meetings and all college meetings, serving on a minimum of one all college committee, and other duties as assigned and outlined in the MCCC Agreement. The Director of Clinical Education must be responsible for all aspects of the clinical experiences of students enrolled in the program, including organization, administration, continuous review and revision, planning for and development of locations (with appropriate supervision) for evolving practice skills, and the general effectiveness of the clinical experience. There must be evidence that sufficient time is devoted to the program by the DCE so that his or her educational and administrative responsibilities can be met.
The Director of Clinical Education must have earned at least a baccalaureate degree from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE); must hold a valid RRT credential and current state license; have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care; have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience teaching in an accredited respiratory care program either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor. Candidate should have knowledge of the mission of community colleges. Candidate should be able to demonstrate strategies for teaching students with diverse learning styles, diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and different levels of preparation and ability.

Worksite: Assignments may be made at any Massasoit site, which includes Brockton, Canton and Middleborough.
Supervisor: Reports Directly to the Division Dean of Nursing and Allied Health
Term of Appointment: Full-time, tenure track position. Terms governed by MCCC/MTA
Salary: Minimum starting salary for a Bachelor’s level candidate is $50,000. Full salary range is $50,000 - $70,000. Salary is commensurate with education and experience in conjunction with MCCC/MTA classification.
