Essential Functions: JOB PURPOSEProvides successful project completion and goal achievement. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with University policy and procedures and the strategic plan, commitments and goals of the Division of Research.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSCreate and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.Identify resources needed and may assign individual responsibilities and provide direction. Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope; track project deliverables using appropriate tools.Prepare for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.Seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships. Track finances and performance metrics and provide reports to Associate Vice President. Coordinate and implement events and activities in support of IBio initiatives.Track and report expenses on a weekly basis; ensure timely and accurate invoicing; monitor receivables for project, if appropriate.Provide support and leadership in space utilization and occupancy efforts.Identify areas for process improvement. Recommend and implement solutions.Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: EDUCATIONBachelor's degree preferably in Business Management, Business Administration, Communications or equivalent combination of education and experience.EXPERIENCEFive or more years of project management experience, to include coordination of day to day activities. Budget management, including report generation and analysis using Excel or other monitoring tools. Coaching and supervisory experience. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to communicate material to a diverse audience. Public speaking experience. Event planning experience is desired.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESINTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Ability to work independently under pressure with tight deadlines. Ability to prioritize workload and resolve operational problems. Strong time-management skills. Apply effective interpersonal skills to provide service.COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS - Strong oral and written communications skills. Ability to communicate and influence others. Effectively present information one-on-one or in a group setting. BUDGET SKILLS: Accounting and financial skills essential. Ability to develop and maintain a robust metrics program.ANALYTICAL SKILLS - Strong analytical skills including: critical thinking, problem solving skills, along with a keen attention to detail. COMPUTER SKILLS: Deep knowledge and hands-on use of PC hardware and software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access is highly desired. Knowledge of university systems. BUSINESS ACUMEN: Understands objectives and mission of department and work unit Monitors own work to ensure quality.
