The University of Cincinnati is currently accepting applications for two (2) Project Manager II – Accessibility Network. The Project Manager II will serve as a member of the IT@UC Project Management Office (PMO) team and will report to the IT@UC Senior Manager of the PMO with a dotted line reporting to the Accessibility Network Program Sponsor. This position will serve as the Project Manager for the university-wide accessibility compliance initiative, following structured PMI methodologies and processes and working closely with the university's Electronic Information Technology (EIT) Coordinator and other team members to ensure that all goals and timelines are achieved. The position will work as a collaborative member of the IT@UC organization and university community. The individual will aslo be responsible for partnering closely with the Program Sponsor, EIT Coordinator, and all members of the Accessibility Network in conjunction with the university community to increase awareness, ensure compliance and incorporate accessibility into university processes. The Project Manager will oversee various moderate to complex projects and provide technical and analytical guidance to project teams, recommend and take action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact
Facilitate projects from original concept through final implementation
Work with customers to define project scope and objectives
Identify and analyzes business and system requirements
Manage project budget and budget constraints, monitor timelines and schedules
Responsible for coordinating activities of the project team
Identify appropriate resources needed and develops schedules to ensure timely completion of the project
Develop detailed work plans, resource plans, project estimates and status reports
Conduct project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analyses
Ensure adherence to quality standards, university policies, procedures and best practices
Meet with customers to determine customer expectations regarding the project
Research, analyze, and seek resources for resolution of issues that impede project progress
Work with project team members to obtain approval and authorization for access to university computing resources as needed for the project
May have limited supervision of staff assigned to specific tasks or projects until the tasks or projects have been completed
Other related duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related degree and four (4) years of experience; or an Associate's degree with six (6) years of experience; or a combination of relevant education and eight (8) years of experience. Experience includes intermediate to advanced level project management experience. Possesses a thorough understanding of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures related project management; contributes through experience, collaboration, and problem resolution.
Ideal Qualifications: Experience managing multi-year projects, utilizing the project management institute (PMI) framework and methodologies in a higher education environment. Familiarity with accomplishing initiatives utilizing an established governance structure. Excellent internal communication skills in conjunction with problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Solid organization skills including attention to detail. Customer relationship management skills are required. Experience managing projects with resources from multiple areas internal and external to IT@UC. Experience with Team Dynamix and familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Sections 504 and 508. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
