The Program Assistant works in partnership with the Center Director and executes the strategic direction of the Center. The Program Assistant helps make visible the discipline of nursing through language and technology interface and disseminate the work of the Center. The Program Assistant supports the Director in with her/his grant applications/submission, executes logistics for a conference (every other year) and helps the Director interface with the NANDA-I Board of Directors. The Program Assistant is the first point of contact for the Center, communicating with people from around the world regarding publications, dissemination of information and membership registration.
Phone and email communication with members and others interested in NANDA-I * Maintaining membership database, sending out reminders for membership renewals, providing new members with information on accessing the journal and website information * Managing incoming diagnoses (new and revisions) and working with the Center Director to establish a process for moving these submissions into the review cycle * Manage and maintain the website, schedule social media and blog postings * Point person for individuals requesting speakers to represent the association at conferences, etc. * Manage board and/or committee calls, meetings, etc. * Support the Association and Center Director with Conference preparation * Support research teams as they work on revising diagnoses, and reviewing new diagnoses * Maintaining and following BC procedures for documentation storage
The person in this position will work closely with the Director of the NANDA-I Center. He/She will have limited latitude for making final decisions.
The person in this position will encounter issues related to communication in primary language, since this is an international organization. The person will need to use great tact and care in assisting members. Quick problem solving will be needed around conference planning and execution as the week-long event gets underway and needs of diverse groups of people traveling long distances must be met.
The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish/English or Portuguese/English. Knowledge of Japanese a plus. Highly competent with standard suite of computer programs (Microsoft, ect.). Can assist as needed with marketing as needed.
