The Stroger Crisis Team Leader is responsible for the oversight of a 24/7 team contracted to provide assessment, recommendations for appropriate treatment, and linkage to all patients presenting to the Cook County Hospital Emergency Room in psychiatric crisis. The role of the Team Leader includes clinical oversight and supervision to the crisis staff, interfacing with ER personal, and cultivating relationships with outside hospitals. Additionally the Team Leader, manages scheduling for the team in order to ensure the ER is appropriately staffed and is responsible to be part of an on call rotation for consultation and emergencies.
MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates in the implementation of Thresholds emergency plans related to extreme weather or other emergency condition.
Works flexible schedule including work on weekends or evenings as required.May be required to be on-call.
Must, at a minimum, meet Office of Mental Health rule 132 standards as a Mental Health Professional (MHP)
Must have Bachelor’s degree, or have a Practical Nurses License, and/or experience* working with person diagnosed with mental illness.
*Five years of supervised experience in mental health of human services may be substituted for formal education with the approval of the Program Director.
One (1) – two (2) years clinical experience
Leadership experience preferred
Computer proficiency, including the ability to use email, navigate and enter notes into electronic medical records and working knowledge of pertinent software.
Strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of group dynamics required
Current and valid Driver’s License required.
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading, etc.
Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction.Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, make fine discriminations in sound.
Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.
The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
