In conjunction with the Executive leadership of the health plan, assists in the development and implementation of strategic and tactical plans related to the achievement of the health plan goals as well as goals for GHS. Provides insight, and planning for product and market growth opportunities throughout the health plan. Responsible to stay current with market trends, anticipating market needs, proactively facilitating internal development of programs to improve health plan growth opportunities and advising executive management of potential impact on the achievement of GHP goals. Works independently to provide a broad range approach to problem solving through objective analysis. Develops strategically sound business proposals to current and new constituents. Leads development and implementation of product development initiatives, maintains relationships established through business development, provides business development expertise to executive leadership. Develops, executes, and manages project timelines.
Collaborates with health plan executive and physician leadership, and business leaders in the identification and development of new and/or expanded products and services, assessing technology and other innovations to ensure that Geisinger Health Plan remains state-of-the-art and competitively positioned. Major duties and responsibilities include:
Support the achievement of the health plan goals; controlling the cost of care, improving quality and improving the member experience.
Develops effective external market surveillance mechanism, maintaining contemporary knowledge of community, regional and national health care landscape.
Collaborates with health plan and health system leadership to plan, implement and enhance products and programs to meet the organization's vision and strategy.
Leads project teams, working cross functionally, thinking both critically and strategically.
In collaboration with leadership, spearheads and manages new product and market strategic exploration that goes beyond current areas of focus.
Develops and monitors realistic budgets that include appropriate funding for all relevant functions and databases.
Provides general access to consistent information/data regarding Geisinger services and its markets.
Oversee the product planning process for all lines of business. The process should include the following:
Conduct a market research driven approach to developing strategies around product development for all product lines
Product development and related filings
Annual CMS bid filing
Product performance analysis
Lead the annual implementation of Commercial and Government programs insurance products and product life cycle
Annual review of existing products
Oversee the development and implementation of training internal and external stakeholders on annual product changes.
Educate the sales team and marketing department on product/network changes
Develop and implement business plans for Government program market expansion into new markets for GHP
Conduct market research and analysis to identify key markets for expansion
Develop business plans and coordinate financial analysis through the finance department.
Responsible for the strategies and tactics to achieve the member experience goal, Net Promoter Score and/or other applicable standards of measurement.
Ensure the ongoing measurement of the member experience through the Net Promoter Score and/or other applicable standards
Identification of key drivers of the Net Promoter Score and/or other applicable standards
Work with the leadership team and a cross functional team at the health plan and health system to develop strategies and tactics that will create sustainable improvement in the member experience.
Oversite of sales operations functions, including but not limited to:
Collaboration regarding the implementation of new products, including the enhancement of existing products and services
Ensure the ongoing operation of the sales reporting system that measures activity and productivity levels relative to established goals.
Responsible for administrative support of the sales process and Broker administration.
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years related leadership experience and extensive experience in strategic planning, product development and market development.
A MBA, MHSA, or equivalent degree is preferred,
Health care management experience in an integrated system or managed care environment is preferred.
