Sidwell Friends School, a coeducational Quaker day school with campuses in Washington, DC and Bethesda, MD, is seeking candidates for Rentals/Athletic Center Monitor for weeknights and Sundays for rental groups.
The monitor will assist with the following:
Will be stationed at the front desk of the Athletic Center
Arrive 10-15 minutes ahead of scheduled rental and ensure the space is clear and set up.
Greet visitors and determine if they can access the space
Check in with the rental group’s coordinator (in the Athletic Center, as well as the Turf Fields and Wannan, as relevant.
Check in and out rental groups based on calendar provided (renters in the Athletic Center must sign in and out)
Walk to Wannan and the Turf Fields, as relevant, to see if rental groups have arrived and if there are any issues.
Walk around the space every 30 minutes to observe groups using gym, dance studio and wrestling room
When checking on groups in Athletic Center, make sure exterior doors are closed and secure.
Ensure groups are only in rented spaces (not locker rooms or other gym spaces)
Communicate with School Security officers any issues (be sure to also follow up with email regarding issue to Rental Coordinator)
Contact Emergency services if needed AND Security, as well as Rental Coordinator
Enforce the established athletic center policies and procedures
Document and report any damages or facilities issues to Security, Dir. of Athletics and Auxiliary programs.
When final renters have departed, inspect Athletic Center Courts and first floor bathroom for trash, cleanliness and lost belongings. (put all lost belongings in box behind front desk in Athletic Center.)
Check out with Security at the end of the evening
Send e-mail at the end the shift letting Rental Coordinator know if a group did not show and if there were any issues or concerns that occurred during shift.
Complete cleaning and maintenance assignments as directed
Do not allow others into Athletic Center unless they are part of the rental group.
Entry and exit into Athletic Center is from Head House only, enforce proper entry and exit.
Perform other duties as assigned
Must be able to physically perform the duties listed above. In addition:
Preference will be given to those candidates who are CPR/AED certified - must show proof of certification.
Prior Experience interacting with the public/school community - faculty, staff, students, alumni, visitors, vendors, etc.
Shifts will be determined by the Rental Coordinator and may include an “off campus” break depending on the hours. If a monitor is leaving campus during a rental, he/she will alert Security.
Weeknights 7 – 11 pm (Must be available to work Thursday evenings.)
Sundays 8 am – 11 pm (high school student considered for day time hours)
