The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy is seeking applications for a non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor position in the Division of Health Outcomes and Pharmacy Practice in Austin, Texas with a clinical site at an academically affiliated community pharmacy.
The successful applicant will lecture and facilitate communication skills development in community pharmacy-based practice experiences for students in the Pharm.D. program. Candidates will work closely with faculty from the Moody College of Communication Center for Health Communication to provide practice-based pharmacy experiences to apply course principles. Course development and administration are expected, as well as service to the college, university, and the broader professional community. The faculty member will be expected to supervise pharmacy students to help them learn how to communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and caregivers. The candidate will function as a member of the pharmacy staff and provide pharmacy services to patients. The successful individual will have the opportunity to collaborate with tenure track and non-tenure track faculty on research and scholarship.
Candidates must have an earned Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy, be licensed or be eligible for licensure in the State of Texas, have successfully completed a PGY1community pharmacy practice residency and be able to demonstrate effective teaching. Preference will be given to those candidates with community pharmacy practice experience, the ability to demonstrate effective teaching, and experience with course development and innovative practice models.
