The Customer Service/Information Coordinator serves as the Office of Financial Aidâ™s primary point of contact and assistance with a high level of sensitive internal/external correspondence via telephone, in person, or email. Essential requirements include exceptional customer service, high motivation and energy, adaptability, and the dependability to ensure a smooth and consistent front desk operation. This position requires experience working with a diverse group of customers. A passion for continuous learning and keeping abreast of all aspects of the financial aid operation is also critical to ensure the ability to analyze and respond to more detailed and technical inquiries. Strong written communication skills required. Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of various Department functions, including supply management, purchasing, mailings, assisting with processing/projects, and other office responsibilities that demand intermediate desktop Microsoft Office skills, converting PDF documents, and experience with Gmail applications.
Associate Degree plus 2-3 years of direct customer service experience or related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a financial aid office preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills, including strong grammar and punctuation skills.
Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions while maintaining a consistent level of composure and exceptional customer service.
Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse client populations and needs, especially in high stress and or time sensitive situations.
Willingness to work cooperatively and creatively with internal teams to resolve problems and make improvements.
Proven ability to complete assigned tasks with accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail to ensure compliance with all government and institutional privacy regulations/policies.
Intermediate skills in all Microsoft Applications (including Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required.
