POSITION SUMMARY: The Nurse Practitioner (NP), under the direction of the Medical Director/Supervising Physician and/or service line Director, is a Registered Nurse who possesses additional clinical and didactic education to function at an advanced level of nursing practice. He/she will be clinically competent in physical diagnosis, psychosocial assessment and management of health-illness needs to provide direct patient care and education to patients, families, students, and nursing staff. The NP consistently demonstrates the core values of Enloe Medical Center and serves as a role model to other employees.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE: Minimum: * Graduate of a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program and/or Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program
Desired: * One year California Health, Disability Program (CHDP) experience * Bilingual in Spanish * Acute care pediatric and or NICU experience * Experience with intubation and placing emergency umbilical lines
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: * Current licensure as a Registered Nurse with the California Board of Registered Nursing * Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with the California Board of Registered Nursing * Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner Furnisher with the California Board of Registered Nursing * Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number or proof of application * Meets Centers for Medical & Medicaid Services (CMS) criteria to bill Medicare * Current AHA-HCP CPR recognition * Credentialed through the Enloe Medical Staff office and Finance Office * NRP recognition within 6 months of hire * PALS recognition within 6 months of hire
Desired: * National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner with a PNP (Pediatric) specialty

Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Must have the ability to lead, motivate, delegate, analyze information and problem solve.
