The UX Developer is part designer and part developer; must have creative skills and know HTML; must work to improve the website experience for visitors to a particular site each day; Understanding how a human being interacts with a computer encompasses the creative design of a site, the ease of searching for particular information on a site, and links between pages. Must stay on top of the latest in website software application upgrades and understand user research, personas, and wireframing.
Will collaborate with developers, University Communication, and other departments on campus marketing efforts. Must be able to combine the synergistic practice of aligning business needs and product requirements to create user-focused and intuitive products, interfaces, platforms for mobile and web. Must combine an inspiring visual sensibility, interaction design best practices and user research to enhance the University's brand image. Should demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, cross-disciplinary project leadership, a proactive work style and comfort navigating ambiguous environments. Must have understanding of product and web design lifecycle.
Focused on developing scalable, inspiring and seamless digital solutions, the selected candidate will lead the ideation, creation, and alignment of digital experiences within a fast-moving marketing environment while advising, consulting and partnering across disciplines, including full-stack developers, other designers, project managers, strategists and writers. Should have demonstrable knowledge and expertise with UX deliverables (i.e. userflows, sitemaps, wireframes, wireflows) and user-testing methodologies, will be a champion in UI design principles, and be able to multi-task projects of varying complexity structures concurrently.

1.Planning – develop and maintain a roadmap for the web human interface for the University in collaboration with University Communications and other marketing efforts 2.Design – define personas and wireframes the represent the ideal user web experience for the University based on specific situational requirements. 3.Implement – work with developers and designers to implement user experiences on University web sites 4.Review – monitor existing University web sites for Accessibility compliance and suggest ways for web authors to improve compliance. 5.Consult – work with University departments on implementing industry best practices for responsive UI design.
Bachelor's degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications) or Human-Computer Interaction ( HCI ), or related field; five years of digital design experience in a professional environment; working knowledge of UX/UI disciplines including interface design, information architecture, usability and interaction design; demonstrated expertise of building, implementing and maintaining user-centric omni-channel experiences; professional working knowledge of usability testing methodologies; proficient in Adobe CC and/or SketchApp or similar design tools; strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience and relevant, user-centric digital design solutions or the equivalent experience.
Experience working with a large organization. Experience with web programming languages and frameworks (PHP, Java, .NET). Experience with content management systems (WordPress, Drupal, SiteCore). Experience with UI frameworks (Bootstrap, Angular, JQuery).
