The Charge Master Analyst is responsible for the integrity of the Charge Description Master (CDM). Reviews CDM requests for accuracy and ensures compliant charge capture. Performs research and project activity to ensure approved methodology, consistency in pricing, descriptions, and accurate coding across facilities. Communicates with consultants and vendors; providing supporting analysis for any new software releases, enhancements, and revenue producing methodologies. The work effort includes processing file transfers between systems; researching, writing, and producing reports; assuring prompt response to a wide range of inquiries including external entities.

Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience: Three years experience in medical coding, hospital/ambulatory site or directly related field required. High degree of skill with personal computers, mainframe computer systems, database organization and structure preferred, with proficiency in Excel and Access.
Licensure/Certification: COC, CPC, CCS or RHIT preferred. EPIC Resolute Hospital Billing Charge Capture and CDM proficiency exam taken or completed preferred.
Other: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to converse with staff and department management. Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills. Must be self-motivated and have the ability to conduct meetings, educate others and defend policies and procedures. Manual dexterity is required to operate general office equipment. Visual perception and reasoning necessary to accurately scan and interpret accounts/medical records, guidelines and policies. Must be able to work independently and use good judgment when making decisions and recommendations regarding charging/documentation practices.
