The School of Information Technology (SoIT) is a vibrant unit, in an interdisciplinary college, which empowers individuals to become passionate, solution-minded Information Technology professionals by fostering: continuous innovation, research, leadership development, interdisciplinary problem solving, and real-world experience. There are over 800 students in the School and 14 full-time faculty members. The BSIT degree is a five-year co-op degree and is one of the first 10 in the nation to receive ABET accreditation. SoIT seeks to hire an Assistant Professor in areas related to Information Technology, including Cybersecurity and Networking/Systems to start in August 2018. Review of the applications will start on November 1, 2017 until the position is filled. Applicants should submit a CV, a statement of teaching philosophy, a list of at least three references and a self-reflection video on the School's strategic plan, IT2019 (http://cech.uc.edu/it/it2019). The video should be no more than five minutes. Applicants should include the URL to the video in their cover letter.
On a full-time basis, faculty members' principal academic functions include teaching, discovering, creating and reporting knowledge.
An earned Masters degree in Information Technology or related computing area and at least three years of working experience that includes technical hands-on experience in Cybersecurity or Networking.
All faculty positions require teaching, scholarship and service responsibilities. Teaching Cybersecurity and Networking undergraduate courses such as, but not limited to, those listed at http://cech.uc.edu/it/future-students/course-descriptions.html is required. Finally, service responsibilities to the School, College, University and/or the community.
