Perform statistical analyses including: Clean and manipulate datasets. Evaluate data analytic assumptions, and decide suitable statistical methods. Build, test, validate programs, perform statistical and graphical analyses, and provide result explanations. Do simulations to examine properties for small samples or for validated or generalizable results if necessary.
Participate in decisions regarding data access/administration, and write programs using SPSS and/or SAS software.
Write/edit complex statistical analysis methodology in Method Sections and provide relevant results and their meanings for grant applications, manuscripts, and presentations. Responsible for answering reviewers' statistical questions during paper revisions. In some cases, be the lead author for whole papers. Create effective presentations.
Suggest statistical aspects of study design to investigators after analyzing databases and reviewing literature. Responsible for writing statistical parts and results in complex studies.
Monitor new analytical methods used in current Orthopaedic journals, practice them via coding and implement them to our datasets if possible or suggest new versions to new studies. Apply existing analytical methods to data sets in novel ways.
Provide operational support for database backup and recovery, and assist in creation of database forms and reports.
Master's degree in statistics, biostatistics, or related relevant field. PhD in statistics, biostatistics, or related relevant field desired
1-3 years of statistical or biostatistics experience.
Experience with SPSS and/or SAS software.
Experience with generating charts/graphs/tables for presentations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
Ability to multi-task and organize priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
High Desired Qualification: Experience working with large databases/datasets. Experience with statistical methods used for survivorship analysis, univariate and multivariate analysis, multivariate analysis, logistic regression, power analysis and/or propensity score matching.
