The Jacques Initiative of the Institute of Human Virology, School of Medicine, University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is seeking a Program Specialist . This position will oversee Education and Support Group Coordination. This position will also asses, plan and implement the JACQUES Initiatives (JI) supportive services and assure that these services meet the needs of our target community and are implemented smoothly.

Assess and maintain current JI educational activities and support groups
Perform educational needs assessment among persons living with or at risk for HIV and HCV in West Baltimore.
Perform supportive services needs assessment among persons living with or at risk for HIV and HCV in Baltimore.
Develop, revise or adapt curricula, tailored to our target population, in collaboration with education and support group facilitators.
When needed, identify educators and support group facilitators.
Develop and maintain education and support calendar for the JACQUES Initiative program.
Coordinate with new and existing community and clinical partners for a collaborative and approach
Maintain all relevant records and statistics for Ryan White and broader programmatic purposes including tracking attendance at group sessions and tracking grant variables.
Education: Bachelor's degree in related field.
Experience: Two (2) years related administrative/program experience.

Skill in relevant PC applications and program such as a Microsoft Office. Maintains productivity and uses knowledge strategies to increase knowledge base.
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision. Ability to effectively attend to various duties on simultaneous assignments. Ability to develop new methods for operation and/or streamlining of processes. Skill in exercising initiative, resourcefulness, and sound judgment with an ability to solve problems and make decisions. Ability to prioritize ongoing and new projects necessary to implementation a specific organizational program.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Writes and presents information in a clear and concise way. Interprets and understands written information and is able to listen attentively to verbal and non-verbal cues that lead to a deeper understanding.
Ability to work cooperatively with others and demonstrates professional, ethical, respectful, and courteous behavior when interacting with others. Capable of interacting pleasantly and positively with other to meet customer expectations, and provide follow up with customers.
