GFA works with FQHCs/community health centers, hospitals, health plans, medical groups, academic programs, IPAs, and foundations to assure profitable financial modeling, strategic planning and expansion as well as maximization of grant and operational revenue and compliance with regulatory agencies and review bodies.
The Healthcare Data & Financial Analyst is responsible for the direction and oversight of analytics and reporting to support clinical, financial and client reporting, product development and business strategy.
Support the analytical team in the extraction, aggregation and quality assurance of data from multiple sources in support of performing client reporting, operational reporting and quantitative analyses of financial, utilization costs and quality metrics.
Assist in the development and execution of analytical activities to provide senior leadership with information and tools for strategic decision making and planning, health care utilization and costs, reimbursement projects and issues, population health and clinical outcomes, provider patterns and variations, trends and forecasting, and informatics needs.
Provide clients with reporting, analytics, and consultation that is relevant and actionable.
Prepare and present accurate, well-supported financial analysis, statistical data and reports to senior executive management.
Prepare financial reports for internal and external reporting.
Prepare budget and program forecasts.
Ability to identify trends in data analysis and report key findings to the team.
Access and interpret appropriate financial data for purposes of identifying financial performance improvement opportunities (cost savings and revenue enhancement opportunities).
Provide recommendations for changes in processes or practices that optimize efficiencies, reduces the total cost, and improves the quality of delivering health care services.
Ensure consistency of approach related to analysis techniques, key findings, and the developments of client recommendations/opportunities.
Collaborate with client’s IT and business units to advance the company’s reporting capabilities and improve accuracy of data.
Research outliers and identify root causes of issues identified in reports (will require understanding of overall business).

Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or university required
Master’s Degree preferred, but not required
At least three (3) years of experience with data and financial analytics
Experience with advanced data visualization tools and SQL are a plus
Experience working with utilization, enrollment and claims data
Ability to translate data into meaningful information in report or presentation formats
Strong knowledge of managed care data reporting and analysis such as HEDIS, quality of care studies, benchmarking, predictive modeling and risk stratification, etc.
Ability to think strategically with appropriate level of detail analysis to plan and execute
Ability to solve problems and drive issues or projects to conclusion
Ability to work collaboratively across the organization
