There will be a daily requirement to interface effectively with employees and business leaders at all levels. You will be required to play a lead role in effective performance and absence management and carry out the management of a general employee's relations, caseload. This will be predominantly for the UK sites but could also incorporate other business units across the EMEA region (including Canada and Australia). Primary Responsibilities:First point of contact for ER related matters, providing best practice specialist advice support and coaching for leaders and employees Excellent knowledge of employment law, specifically UK employment law. You will also keep regularly up to date on matters that will significantly impact employee relations in EMEA Responsible for policy formation and review and contract formation and review again predominantly for the UK sites Excellent communication skills and the ability to function in an agile environment, across a matrix organization Providing advice and guidance in a timely and accurate manner, is essential, given consideration of the legislation, risk mitigation and the wider Enterprise approach Working with HCP's and HCC's to ensure the appropriate, HC response to the business Providing consistent HC / ER messaging across the Enterprise Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, enabling you to support HCP's, HCC, managers and leaders as required Good technical knowledge of HR systems, word, excel and other HR tools specific to UHG Provide a strong internal and external customer service focus, with the ability to develop strong working relationships Desire to drive change though the UHG culture and diversity and inclusion, supporting the businesses efforts, to achieve this Supporting managers with performance, sickness, misconduct and other employees issues, to provide support and advice and ensure a fair and equitable process is followed at all times Review current ER processes actively looking at ways to improve the COE function and the wider HC support to the Enterprise Ensure ER knowledge is constantly updated, as the SME in ER this is an essential requirement for this role Must be able to multi task and prioritize workload, effectively managing conflicting priorities, on occasion there will also be a requirement to get involved in HR / ER project work This work will also include the managements of sickness absence, complex downsizing programs, TUPE, performance management, disciplinary and grievances as well as all other ER related matters Expectation to work on ER reporting and analysis and provide support for auditing and compliance purposes Work efficiently and with tact and diplomacy with stakeholders, employees and managers alike, ensuring the best outcome for the business and the wider Enterprise Ability to illustrate working to the values of UHG which are Performance, Innovation, Relationships, Compassion, Integrity
Required Qualifications:Solid proven experience in ER within a HR environment with an emphasis on Employee Relations Solid understanding of current UK employment law and be able to apply / translate this to provide practical and compliant solutions Practical hands on TUPE experience Strong competence in complex case managementPreferred Qualifications:Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience Shared services experience CIPD qualifiedCareers at UnitedHealth Group.
