This position has been identified as a fast-track to management role - we are looking to develop the right individual into a manager over audit accountants within a 6 to 12-month time period. Additionally, prior experience in revenue accounting is preferred but not required for this position.
The Revenue Accountant is responsible for the accounting, reconciliation and reporting of revenue in accordance with company policies and US GAAP. This position will be responsible for automating the daily flow of data from the company’s point of sale system to the general ledger.
Develop process to automate daily sales and adjustments between POS system and general ledger.
Interact with the retail operations team on point-of-sale (POS) transaction issues and store processing errors. Identifies and collaborates with team on development and training opportunities.
Reconcile subledger balances to general ledger on a daily basis.
Prepare weekly A/R roll-forwards and analysis for management review.
Calculate on-hold, remake and general reserve by office. Develop and refine methodology.
Communicate to accounting manager and MVC manager when variances to subledger exist
Account for revenue and A/R of acquisitions and integrations.
Identify and support operational procedures by developing working relationships with all levels of operational management.
Recognize areas for process efficiencies and implement process changes as approved.
Drive continuous improvement and innovation of the revenue internal controls environment.
Assist with the annual financial audit. Ensures audit preparedness for financial records, processes and controls. Coordinates audit requests and ensures deliverables are provided within the requested time frame.

3-5 years related experience in revenue accounting or public accounting experience with retail, distribution or manufacturing clients
Public accounting experience preferred
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Strong knowledge of US GAAP; retail experience preferred but not required.
Experience with MS SQL, Access or other database helpful but not necessary
Detail oriented, but able to see the big picture
Demonstrated history of problem solving
Communication skills – ability to talk to all levels
Knowledge of and proficiency in an ERP such as Oracle, SAP or Infor
Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Attention to detail, organized, and thorough, with desire for continuous improvement.
Superb ability to identify, analyze, and resolve accounting and system issues.
Flexibility and willingness to work as part of a team.
