Vetter Pet Care (“Vetter”) is excited to announce an opening for a part-time small animal veterinarian to join their team! Vetter is a Philadelphia-based veterinary startup that delivers quality, affordable, and convenient at-home veterinary care to improve and sustain pets’ health. Responding to the need for easy access to veterinary care without the typical hassle of an office visit, Vetter launched in its home city in August 2017. With positive feedback during beta phase, the company is looking for an exceptionally talented and motivated veterinarian to join the team.
Vetter focuses exclusively on mobile veterinary care, in the form of both sick visits and wellness visits. The company maintains the flexibility, excitement, and entrepreneurial spirit of a startup while providing the highest quality medical care and veterinary experience for both pets and pet owners.
Qualities and characteristics of the successful candidate: -- comfort with canine/feline veterinary medicine and established best practices with at least three years of experience in the field. -- ability to work autonomously and mentor a veterinary technician. -- willingness to perform end-of-life care services—experience and compassion are musts. -- capability to review and synthesize prior medical records to determine present risk factors for the pet(s) -- medical astuteness, with ability to exhibit confidence in diagnoses and treatment plans. -- entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to wear various hats during the ramp phase for a startup business—a motivated self-starter. Flexibility and openness to change is critical. -- strong planning and time management skills. -- comfort when conducting at-home veterinary visits in varying locations, environments, and conditions. -- commitment to a positive client experience (articulate and relatable during client communication), with developed soft skills and bedside manner. -- commitment to continual improvement and not being satisfied with the status quo. -- involvement in the Philadelphia pet community/extracurricular activities and events. -- willingness to participate in promotional events and aid in marketing efforts of the business. -- current PA veterinary license and valid driver’s license required.
Preferred qualifications: DEA license / USDA accredited / Additional state (DE, NJ) licensure
