Directors of Network Contracting oversee those that conduct unit cost and contract valuation analysis in support of network contracting negotiations and unit cost management strategies. Responsibilities also include managing unit cost budgets, target setting, performance reporting, and associated financial models. Primary Responsibilities: Develop and execute strategies for a function or discipline that span a large business unit or multiple markets / sitesDirect others to resolve business problems that affect multiple functions or disciplinesProduct, service or process decisions are most likely to impact multiple functions and/or customer accounts
Required Qualifications: Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience8+ years of analytical experience in financial analysis, healthcare pricing, network management, healthcare economics, or related discipline5+ years of experience working full risk and Global risk management5+ years of experience with payor contracting5+ years of experience with provider payment methodologies and healthcare productsExpert level of proficiency in performing financial impact analysis, risk management, and data manipulation5+ years of experience in creating and using financial modeling tools, spreadsheets, and information acquisition tools including experience in interpreting and reviewing financial modeling results to evaluate the financial impact of contract changes and develop forecasts5+ years of supervisory experienceAdvanced level proficiency in MS Excel Preferred Qualifications: Post-graduate degreeStrong written and verbal communication skillsCareers with Optum.
