The New York office is seeking an Attorney Recruiting, Training & Development Assistant to provide general administrative support to the NY office attorney training and professional development departments. This person will be responsible for support of attorney training and development administrative functions.
Assist with coordination of major annual attorney training programs, such as Kirkland University, Kirkland Academy of Leadership and Management, Kirkland Institute of Trial Advocacy, Deposition Training and Writing Advocacy training
Assist with the coordination of department and committee meetings and local training and development programs including scheduling, preparation of materials and logistical meeting oversight
Maintain data on Continuing Legal Education and track attorney attendance at CLE trainings
Flexibility to work and stay off-site and required lunch hour and evening overtime
Independently liaise with outside vendors; help to plan practice group events
Independently liaise and coordinate with Firm departments with respect to assigned training and development tasks
In collaboration with Department Managers, assist in maintaining budget for assigned training and development programs and events; assist in ensuring programming and events remain within set budget; process the team’s expenses and invoices
Communicate and collaborate with other offices on program and event scheduling, handouts, logistical and technical meeting support
Appropriately inform Department Managers of necessary information related to programming
Process local Foundation related sponsorships as necessary
Prepare statistical reports, including attendance reports for training programs and events
Provide logistical support for Associate Review process
Assist Department Managers as necessary (including phone calls, calendar/address book)
Assist with logistics during the recruiting season in preparation for the Summer Associate program
Miscellaneous administrative duties such as filing, creating labels, scanning and copying
Attend Attorney Training & Development Department staff meetings
Other duties as assigned
This position requires a high level of collaboration with attorneys, team members, and staff and the ability to work independently. This position requires the exercise of independent judgment and ability to multitask and prioritize work load.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess excellent oral and written communication skills; the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; a very strong attention to detail; and a professional demeanor. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships among lawyers and staff to achieve results.
A Bachelor’s degree is required. The position requires the candidate to have solid technical skills including competency in MS Office, PowerPoint, SharePoint, WebEx, GoToMeeting and other tools. There is a focus on innovation and ability to learn and master new technology.
