The American Dental Association is dedicated to promoting the public's health through its initiatives in research, education, advocacy, public awareness and the development of standards. We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Dental School Outreach.
This position manages the ADA's dental school outreach activities and supports state and local dental school outreach efforts in order to facilitate the transition of predoctoral students into active licensed ADA membership. This position supports annually set membership growth goals and effectively advocates for student membership benefits that respond to identified wants and needs. This position evaluates and reports on the effectiveness of the ADA dental school strategy, providing actionable information to key stakeholders.
This position also contributes to the development of content and curriculum for training volunteers and staff in student and new dentist membership growth activities, strategically engaged volunteers in membership outreach activities, and has direct budget responsibilities. The position works closely with ADA staff, dental school administrators and faculty as well as with the leaders and staff of the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) and the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) to demonstrate the value of organized dentistry and ADA membership to predoctoral students.
Requirements: This position has the following minimum requirements:
A minimum of five years management experience (working with staff and/or projects) in an association or non-profit management environment.
This position requires a high-energy self-starter with a strong sense of accountability.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated success in building inter professional relationships.
Must have a good balance of analytical and creative skills and previous experience analyzing information and developing and implementing membership and/or marketing plans that meet strategic goals.
Possess strong customer service.
Ability to work independently as well as to manage team-based efforts.
Ability to build successful stakeholder relationships.
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to evolving environment.
Ability to understand the membership database and other relevant data, and use transactional and reporting systems to meet ADA and departmental needs.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Aptify or another Association Management or customer relationship Software System
Willing to occasionally work evening, weekends, with frequent travel.
Highly desirable skills include:
Previous experience in associations and volunteer management.
Knowledge of the dental profession, particularly related to academia.
