UC Scout is a WASC accredited online college prep and Advanced Placement program. The department develops online curriculum and teaches underserved, under resourced and underrepresented students. This position will be assigned to the UC Scout Science Department and will teach and develop Earth Sciences courses, including Oceanography and Advanced Placement Environmental Science.
Primary work location is UCSC Silicon Valley Campus, 3175 Bowers Avenue, Santa Clara, CA 95054.
This position is eligible for a telecommuting agreement. Candidates must be able to travel to the primary work location, as needed.
Selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
Per the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA), this position has been identified as a Mandated Reporter.
Bachelor's degree in related area.
Full-time high school or middle school (secondary education) teaching experience.
Current Clear cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development (CLAD) certification via California Teacher of English Learners (CTEL) or equivalent Certification.
Valid Clear California Teaching Credential or license authorizing service in grade levels and areas assigned.
Thorough knowledge of principles, theories, methods, techniques and strategies pertaining to teaching and instruction.
