Department Name: 7H016:SPINAL CORD & BRAIN INJURY RES
This position involves performing surgeries and traumatic brain and spinal cord injury research on live animals (mice and rats) followed by behavioral, histological and neurochemical analyses at various time points.
Study the effects of novel pharmacological compounds for their ability to protect the injured brain or spinal cord tissue and improve cognitive and motor recovery.
The successful applicant will be expected to compile and analyze experimental data and to have strong English speaking and writing skills to assist with grant and manuscript writing and oral presentation.
MS Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Prism statistical program. Experience in mouse or rat handling and surgery and making up of drug solutions and administration to animals.

Required Related Experience:
Required License/Registration/Certification :
MS degree and one or more years related experience in biological sciences, neuroscience, physiology or biochemistry preferred.
