VCU focuses on transforming the donor experience through multiple channels. The Annual Giving Project Coordinator will report to the Director of Annual Giving Alumni Outreach and is a team member where the collective is increasing constituent engagement and revenue through the all-direct and indirect channels. This individual will serve as the annual giving liaison to the schools and centers at VCU. He/she will assist with the strategy, execution, and implementation of all printed and digital communications for the office of annual giving and internal clients.
●Serve as annual giving liaison for university schools/units to support fundraising efforts and collaborate as necessary to execute annual fundraising plan, create/manage timelines, and work within a budget ●Assist in the creative process of direct mail, email and digital campaigns, including copywriting and proofing art and copy for accuracy ●Coordinate purchasing needs and fiscal reporting ●Assist with preparation of presentations and meetings ●Maintain and index appeal archives ●Manage group email accounts ●Manage Annual Giving web pages and update content, including for giving days and crowd-funding projects ●Coordinate internal operations for student calling program to include sharing daily comments with unit-based development colleagues ●Serve as annual giving point of contact for donors ●Coordinate and maintain quality control over fulfillment of telefund pledges ●Gather relevant market information/best practices/trends from other universities and nonprofits to inform strategy ●Additional duties related to annual giving team as assigned ●Flexibility to work evenings and weekends dependent on deadline driven nature of fundraising environment.
Must have an advanced degree or training and work experience at a level that equates to an advanced degree. 2 years work experience in fundraising, alumni relations, marketing or nonprofit management.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
Knowledge of fundraising strategies and philosophy. Experience with complex database systems. ?Experience in project management and customer service. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Mastery of Excel. Knowledge of IRS regulations around philanthropic giving and accounting. Preferred experience using Photoshop, InDesign and Adobe Creative Cloud.
