Position/Program Information Lane Community College seeks a dynamic and experienced international recruitment professional to support the expanding international student population. Lane hosts the 5th largest international student population in Oregon with over 350 students from 40 countries. International Programs is a comprehensive programs serving F-1 international students from recruitment through graduation in transfer.
We seek to support student holistically and build strong relationships with students, their families and agents to ensure student success. Lane works extensively with agency partners in outreach and recruitment efforts. There is one staff currently in this position, a second Associate Director is being added to the team to support diversifying and expanding our program.
Major Responsibilities: • Creating and sustaining relationships with agency partners, high schools, parents and alumni within assigned markets. • Coordinate pre-departure orientations • Provide leadership in the admitted to initial enrollment phase of international student recruitment. • In coordination with other Associate Director for Recruitment, provide leadership and direction for the marketing and recruitment of new students into the program. • Meeting recruitment targets in a broad range of countries. • In coordination with the International Programs Director and Associate Director for Recruitment, continually assessing the effectiveness, responsiveness, and competitiveness of the International Program. • In collaboration with International Programs leadership, continually support and develop International Programs staff to be as effective and responsive as possible to international student and campus needs.

Working Schedule: This position requires regular working hours and frequent evenings, weekends and overseas travel. Most travel will be 2 weeks in length with a total of 3-6 trips per year. Some domestic travel may also be required.

Required Education: Masters Degree OR *Bachelor degree and 2 (two) years of proven and progressively responsible experience (in addition to required experience) in marketing, outreach, admissions, recruitment, or international student advising work.
Required Experience: Three (3) years of marketing, admissions, recruitment, or international student advising work. • Fluency in English and a moderate to bilingual fluency in one other world language is required.
Conditions of Employment: This position works indoors and is exposed to usual office working conditions that includes office noises and interruptions, such as printers, telephones, and visitors. This position requires that an employee be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; perform computer work in the form of word processing, data entry, spreadsheet work, research and webbased research for more than 7 hours a day. This position may work with individuals who may be upset or abusive. Work involves concentrated mental and visual attention for sustained periods of time. Work may require transporting materials up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Education Bachelor or Master's Degree in International Business, Marketing, or Management and/or International Education and/or Educational Administrative leadership.
Preferred Experience Preferred: • Experience practicing emotionally intelligent leadership in a global multicultural context • Experience recruiting F-1 students in Asian, Middle East, African or Latin American Markets • Experience working closely with educational agency partners • Experience supervising and developing staff in a union environment. • Speak, read and write in any of the following languages: Arabic, Bahasa, Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, or Vietnamese. • Two (2) years studying or working professionally outside the United States.

Position Purpose: The Associate Director of Recruitment is responsible for building relationships with agency partners, high schools, parents and alumni within assigned markets to support international student success and meet enrollment goals of F-1 international students. Position is responsible for the marketing and branding of Lane for the international audience, coordinating pre-departure sessions and communications, and supervising staff in the International Programs office in alignment with Lane's core Vision, Mission and Values.
Essential Functions: • Create the annual recruitment and marketing plan and update marketing collateral for the web, social media, aps, etc. in collaboration with the International Programs Director, fellow Associate Director for Recruitment, Funk Levis, and recruitment partners within budget constraints. • Travel for recruitment purposes to markets outside of the USA including college fairs, agency partner development, pre-departure sessions, and high school development for a minimum 10-12 weeks per year. • In coordination with the entire team, departments across Lane, plan and execute prospective student, agency and high school partner visits. • In coordination with the entire team, departments across Lane, and peer mentors plan and support pre-departure sessions. • Support and lead international programs staff in yielding applicants and their successful arrival to Lane including airport pickup and Titan Court move in support and orientation week. • Ensure that student inquiries are responded to promptly and support the admissions staff in coordinating the required paperwork and legalities; troubleshoot recruitment concerns. • Manage agency partner relationships within assigned territory including policy and procedure enforcement, support and motivate agency partners to reach enrollment target goals and create agency manual utilizing latest technological trends in international education in designated territory. • In coordination with the leadership team, initiate, coordinate and strategically plan for staff development and training; coordinate and collaborate with college departments, faculty and staff to promote enterprise zone objectives • Ensure positive and professional relationships with college administrators, staff, students and union representatives • Promote and support the development of effective and innovative strategies, methodologies, technologies, and practices; Facilitate and encourage faculty, staff, and recruitment partners to stay current with changing technologies. • Prepare and develop budgets for the department; administrate within available resources; Foster participatory decision-making regarding budget development, program practices, office procedures, and other decisions, of consequence consistent with College policy. • Collaborate in the design, collection, and analysis of data required for the planning, development, and day-to-day operation of the department. • Help ensure learning environment and workplace safety for faculty, staff, and students. • Engage in an effective system of assessment and evaluation of programs and services, wherever offered and however delivered

Supervision Statement: The Associate Director of International Student Recruitment reports to the Director of International Programs.
Physical Demands/Working Environment: Work safely. Overnight and international travel required. May stand or sit for extended periods of time; work on a computer extensively on a daily basis to complete job duties; lift or transport up to 50 lbs with or without assistance.
