This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week. This position is expected to last no more than 12 months.

This position is in the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) Office at the Medical School Campus.
Provides support to the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) by reviewing and evaluating all research protocols related to the care and use of animals at both the School of Medicine and Danforth campuses. This position helps to compile information and meeting materials to be reviewed by faculty committees in accordance with the University’s policies, and federal and sponsoring agencies regulations.
PRIMARY DUTIE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs preliminary administrative review of research protocols and identifies problems and issues in the submission.
Tracks pending applications and advises investigators on the status of the protocols.
Updates database and maintains correct records of confidential research protocols.
Identifies and tracks approved protocols.
Implementation of office-established procedures to assist investigators with compliance as identified by the IACUC office.
Generates weekly materials containing protocols and amendments to the IACUC committee for review.
Compiles agenda and prepares monthly meeting materials.
Schedules committee meetings.
Sets up security access to the protocol submission system; helps train new users on submission and review process.
Copies and maintain filing as needed; assist with updated procedures as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Equivalent of Associate’s degree with 2-4 years experience in administrative support.
Familiarity working with computers and experience using Microsoft Office Professional software (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
Bachelor's degree or comparable work experience.
Previous experience in research administration, preferably in a research intensive university hospital or institute.
The hiring range for this position is $18.44-$23.52 per hour.
