The College of Built Environments has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Assistant. The Program Assistant provides the first point of contact for the UW Department of Architecture in the College of Built Environments.
Manage the department reception area: answer department phone lines, receive and refer prospective students, their families and the general public, provide information about the department and multiple degree programs (graduate, undergraduate and professional), and provide information regarding basic admissions requirements. Detailed knowledge of specific program requirements and activities is a key element of this position. Give tours of department facilities as needed.
Periodically attend advisor information sessions and review department website to maintain updated knowledge of programs.
General clerical duties include order, receive and maintain department supplies, track inventory, photocopy, sort and distribute incoming mail and paychecks, assign room keys, and update and distribute the quarterly department telephone contact list.
Assign and supervise the work of student office employees.
Oversee the faculty course evaluation process on a quarterly basis.
Assist faculty with grading and grade changes, and distribute quarterly add codes.
Assist with event planning and coordination, equipment and vehicle rentals, and catering.
Additional duties as assigned by the Program Manager.

REQUIREMENTS: High school graduation or equivalent AND Two years of full-time clerical experience OR Equivalent education/experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills interacting with diverse groups and individuals
Accustomed to working well independently and as a member of a team
High level of computer proficiency using PC platforms: MS Word, Excel
Experience providing direct service to clients
Ability to be flexible.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.
