Program Coordinator - The Sackler School, School of Medicine - (17001738)
The Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences Dean's Office oversees the academic, administrative, and student service operations of the School. The office provides strategic direction and oversight of all aspects of the School including research initiatives, program quality, policies and procedures, and efficient, effective, and customer-oriented student services. The office collaborates with Tufts University Provost and staff to maintain the quality of our programs.
The person in this position holds a key position in the Sackler Dean's Office. The individual coordinates all student services programs and events, provides customer service to prospective students; visitors; and Sackler School graduate students, faculty, and staff. The Program Coordinator supports the Associate Dean of the Sackler School and plays a major role in completing various complex special projects. The Program Coordinator also provides all non-academic support for the NIH-funded Building Diversity in Biomedical Sciences program and assists with Admissions and Records as needed.
S/he must have a positive, enthusiastic, welcoming demeanor and demonstrate professionalism, tact and diplomacy when dealing with the concerns of members of the community. This person must have a comprehensive knowledge of the day-to-day operations of the Sackler Dean's Office in order to act as an interface the Dean's Office and students, faculty, prospective students, other University staff, and all visitors.
This position that reports to the Associate Dean. The position requires a high degree of initiative and self-direction. Some early morning, evenings and occasional weekends required.
Required computer/technical skills: Microsoft Office (Access, Word, Excel), Internet, Email.
Superior organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and to work effectively as part of a team.
He or she must possess outstanding customer service and communication skills, have the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, the ability to problem-solve, and to meet multiple deadlines.
Higher education experience.
In addition, the individual must be personable on the phone and in e-mail and possess integrity, flexibility, intelligence, warmth, a professional demeanor, and a good sense of humor.
Special Work Schedule Requirements: Occasional nights, weekends and travel.
