Under the direction of the UNT System Director of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, the EO/ADA Administrator proactively partners with the department and divisional leaders to address a variety of workplace issues in a way which provides tangible value that supports institutional strategic initiatives. The incumbent will provide a high level of customer satisfaction through guidance and advice on EO/ADA related issues. This position reports to the UNT System Director of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion and operates with considerable discretion within established guidelines. Coordinates work extensively with other members of the System and Campus Human Resources teams. Responsible for institution-wide programs designed to ensure equality of employment opportunity.
EO/ADA Administrator may brief the President directly on broad matters relating to Equal Opportunity and is designated as the EO/ADA Administrator for assigned System component.
Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
* Provides guidance, coaching, and training to departments and divisions on issues related to all areas of Equal Opportunity. * Investigates complaints of discrimination and harassment in compliance with federal and state laws, University policies and procedures. Interacts with faculty, administrators, and employees at all levels in performing investigative duties. Completes investigation within specific time constraints and reports findings and conclusions to appropriate officials. * Coordinates University programs and responsibilities to assure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Act, Sections 503 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to persons with disabilities. * Responsible for coordinating University policies and procedures relating to persons with disabilities, tracking university progress relating to its policies and procedures as well as state and federal laws relating to persons with disabilities, filing all necessary reports, and providing consultative services to System components. * The scope of responsibility includes faculty, staff, and student employment, as well as public and student access to programs and facilities. * Develop s and maintains written materials and other informational pieces to broadly disseminate information regarding the ADA and the University's policies relating to persons with disabilities. * Designs and participates in the development of presentations for faculty and staff on the provision of equal opportunity for persons with disabilities. * Serves as the central intake for matters relating to the ADA and facilitates activity and the flow of information among the various University offices with responsibilities relating to compliance. * Maintains a record of all disability and accommodation issue s and the resolution of each. * Ensures the timely filing of all required compliance reports. * Develops and implements internal measures and/or reports which inform the University administration of the status of ADA compliance and opportunities for people with disabilities. * Recommends improvements in recruiting an d employee programs to ensure compliance with EO goals and regulations. * Conducts independent research to ensure internal policies remain compliant with federal and state law. * Recommends policy changes to the UNT System EDI Director as needed. * Works with the UNT System EDI Director in identifying training needs for supervisor s, managers, and employees on EO related issues. * Provides guidance and training on appropriate methods and strategies for mediation and conflict resolution to supervisors, managers, and employees on EO, ADA, and harassment related issues. * Helps align the EO/AA strategy with the institutional strategic plan. * Evaluates and assists in developing a high-performing organizational climate and culture. * Provides leadership in the change process to create a productive, engaged and inclusive workforce. * Utilizes consultation and resource development to assist individuals and departments with fostering positive working relationships. * Takes initiative, works independently, effectively manages projects. * Ability to travel to the other UNT campuses in the DFW area, as needed.

The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
* PHR Certification. * Experience in higher education settings. * Experience working with PeopleSoft Human Capital Management system. * Experience with EEO/AA reporting and tracking methodologies. * Experience in administering EEO/AA programs in higher education setting. * Proficient in applying conflict resolution skills and mediation techniques.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in related field and five years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
* Demonstrated investigation skills. * Thorough knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations related to EEO/AA programs. * Experience analyzing and processing ADA reasonable accommodation requests. * Strong facilitation and presentation skills. * Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. * Experience with EEO/AA compliance and statistical analysis. * Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally and in writing. * Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. * Ability to work independently.
