The Multimedia Photo/Videographer position will be responsible for telling the story of the university by crafting impactful videos, photos, and other media. This process will include working in pre-production, production, and post-production—including scheduling and setting up for shoots, capturing interviews, b-roll, and additional footage, and creating the final product in the editing room. The ideal candidate will not only have video skills, but will also be skilled in still photography, and other facets of multimedia.
Minimum Education/Experience/Skill :
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skill :
Demonstrable experience with DSLR video, or equivalent experience
Demonstrable experience with Non-Linear Editing (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent)
Experience with recording on-location audio
Excellent grip on the ins and outs of controlling exposure and look for video (Shutter Speed, Shutter Angle, Aperture, Frame Rate, ND Filters, ISO/ASA)
Experience in a full video editing workflow
Non-Linear Editor (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent)
Motion Graphics (Adobe After Effects or equivalent)
Audio (Adobe Audition, Apple Logic, or equivalent)
Color Grading (Davinci Resolve or equivalent)
Studio and location lighting experience
Still photography experience
With an emphasis on commercial and editorial photography
Experience with studio lighting and studio portraiture is also a plus
Experience with cinema grade equipment is a plus
BlackMagic, Canon C Series, etc
Vision for the future of the university’s multimedia presence and the ability to learn and grow to make it happen
Experience in social media video and propagation of video through social channels
In depth knowledge and understanding of how cameras and photography work
Keen compositional skills
Airtight understanding of exposure
Understanding of the connection between equipment choices and aesthetic outcomes
Strong narrative sense and ability to craft a narrative from an interview
Must be willing to keep current and always be seeking ways to improve the university’s multimedia presence
