Directly responsible for overseeing operational resources and conducting impaired driving research for the Principal investigator. Duties include: (i) traveling to off-site locations to manage data collection and trouble-shoot data collection systems, (ii) independently drafting research protocols directed at data collection, data download, data reduction, and data analysis using specialized human factors techniques and methods, (iii) supervising and coordinating a team of experimental staff, (iv) training junior experimental staff, (v) recruiting, screening, and working with human subjects, (vi) preparing the Smart Road or other setting(s) for experiments, and (vii) performing other duties in support of conducting research projects. Motivated to work independently or with little supervision, in a fast-paced research environment. Role requires demonstrated ability to consistently exercise discretion and judgment; strong supervisory, problem-solving, communication, organization, and documentation skills.
-Bachelor's degree in psychology, human factors, or related field OR equivalent combination of education & training required. -Demonstrated experience and or knowledge in lab and research policies, procedures and protocols. -Demonstrated experience running human subject experiments and protocols. -Demonstrated proficiency with specialized research software (i.e. Excel, video editing). -Demonstrated experience drafting research protocols directed at data collection, data download, data reduction, and data analysis using specialized human factors techniques and methods
-Previous supervisory experience. -Experience in substance use/abuse, pharmacology, or transportation research
