Provide vision, leadership, coordination, and strategic planning for the design and implementation of a USF Health-wide platform to enhance diversity, equity and respect for all faculty, staff, and students; primarily responsible for coordinating implementation of the University's strategic plan for diversity and inclusion in partnership with administrative/divisional units of USF Health to align Health diversity initiatives with the University's strategic plan. The Position may become Tenure Earning.
Provide leadership for and coordination of USF Health educational and assessment initiatives to support the institutional mission of the University by coordinating divisional diversity and inclusion plans, goals, and objectives to guide work toward expected outcomes, assessment development and evaluation in concert with departmental initiatives and the overall strategic plan. Assist in developing and implementing strategies to monitor and evaluate USF Health-wide progress toward a diverse and equitable learning, research and work environment. Develop and analyze plans for monitoring, needs analysis, and strategic insights regarding diversity and Inclusion trends
Advise the SVP USF Health/Dean MCOM, senior USF Health administrative officers, and members of the Senior Management Team of USF Health/MCOM on issues relating to USF Health diversity and inclusion. Identify, develop, foster and maintain strong internal and external relationships for the purpose of integrating diversity/inclusion initiatives, which advance diversity-building partnerships in the internal University and external communities. Seek opportunities to increase resources for the USF Health mission and goals in these areas.
Develop, coordinate and lead an institutional diversity fact-finding/advisory group that will promote institutional transformation and inclusive excellence across USF Health. Advise USF Health efforts on recruiting and retaining a diverse community of faculty, staff and students; and to promote a culture of thriving, and Institutional commitment to Inclusion.
Promote a positive Image and positive external relations for USF Health by communicating and interacting with government, public and private entities in matters related to diversity efforts. Represent the Senior Vice President and USF Health/MCOM in various community, regional and state activities designed to promote diversity at USF Health in particular, and higher education in general.
Create and implement communication strategies and content management for training, web resources (internal and external audiences), and print materials to support diversity and related initiatives.
Promote all undergraduate, graduate, and professional student success with a focus on under-represented and minority students. Work closely with CON, COP, COPH and MCOM Admissions and Shared Student Services to build sustained partnerships with key community organizations for the purpose of identifying and recruiting students to the USF Health.
Assist in enhancing the ethnic diversity on campus and work to enrich the collegiate experience of all USF Health students, faculty, and staff.
MINIMUM: Possession of an advanced degree (MD, PhD, EdD, or JD) in a relevant field from an accredited institution. In addition, must meet qualifications for appointment in an academic department OR have significant experience in a post-secondary educational environment
PREFERRED: Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Successful record of leading and advancing diversity and cultural inclusion initiatives. Proven experience in developing and Implementing outreach efforts and programs. Successful record of leading and advancing diversity and cultural inclusion initiatives. Proven experience in developing and implementing outreach efforts and programs. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in shared governance. Successful record of collaboration and partnerships with the external stakeholders and the larger community. Previous experience as a Chief Diversity Officer or strong leadership roles in higher education and professional societies. Prior experience in strategic planning, budget management and staff supervision. Demonstrated training experience.
