The Princeton University Art Museum seeks a curatorial research assistant/associate for a 10 month part-time (15-20 hours/week) casual position with the possibility of extension.
Working primarily off-site, with meetings at the Museum as needed, the research assistant/associate will work in support of the development of a catalogue for the upcoming exhibition on Cezanne rocks and quarries. The research assistant/associate will assist the Allen R. Adler, Class of 1967, Distinguished Curator and Lecturer on research for the introductory essay and take responsibility for researching and writing the catalogue section of the publication. The research assistant/associate will also undertake library and archival research, correspond to further project research, and be responsible for coordinating some aspects of the catalogue with the Museum's Publications Office.
Finalist will be required to successfully complete a background check.
The successful candidate will work effectively with Museum staff members and academic scholars.
Attention to detail is vital, as is the ability to meet scheduled deadlines.
Excellent organization and writing skills are essential.
An in depth knowledge of European art of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries is required.
Reading knowledge of French is also required, a facility in additional foreign languages is preferred.
Masters or Professional degree and 4-6 years' experience is required.
