The Director of ECULA reports to the Executive Director of the Office of Global Affairs. He or she is responsible for the both the long-term and day-to-day functioning of the program, including:
- setting goals for the program - ensuring program compliance with federal, state and University regulations and processes - maintaining national accreditation of the program as appropriate; - hiring, evaluating and scheduling staff - maintaining ECULA budgets - teaching ECULA courses - assisting with the worldwide recruitment and admission of students - working with others in the Office of Global Affairs to develop marketing and communication plans for prospective students - ensuring that ECULA webpages and informational materials are accurate, up to date and accessible - establishment and oversight of curriculum that meets professional standards - overseeing the procurement of books and classroom materials - scheduling classrooms; liaising with numerous campus administrative units to ensure the smooth operation of ECULA and the welfare of its students - working with ECU colleges and departments to determine how the program can best be of service to them - organizing activities for ECULA students both inside and outside the classroom.

1. Master’s degree in Linguistics, TESOL, English, or Modern Languages 2.
