The Section of Pediatric Cardiology at the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD) and Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seeks a full-time board certified or board eligible Pediatric Cardiologist to join its faculty. A founding member of the Northern New England Regional Program in Pediatric Cardiology with Boston Children’s Hospital and the University of Vermont Children’s Hospital, the Section provides comprehensive care for infants, children and adolescents with cardiovascular conditions across the state of New Hampshire and eastern Vermont. It is also growing an adult congenital heart program in conjunction with Dartmouth-Hitchcock's Heart & Vascular Center.
Academic opportunities across Dartmouth's campuses include world-class traditional biomedical research, global health initiatives, and renowned leadership in quality improvement and healthcare delivery sciences. Active participation in Pediatric undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education is required, with eligibility for appointment at Geisel expected, along with excellent interpersonal, clinical, and teaching skills. Salary and academic rank will be offered commensurate with experience. Leadership opportunities exist for candidates with appropriate background and interest.
Care is delivered at CHaD's two major specialty hubs - Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), the region's 396-bed academic medical center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, and D-H Manchester, a comprehensive ambulatory center in the state’s largest city - which are linked through robust telehealth technologies. In addition to CHaD's level III NICU, PICU, and inpatient ward, DHMC hosts New Hampshire's only Level-1 trauma center, its only air ambulance service, and over 30 graduate medical education programs, including a core Pediatrics residency.
Lebanon is located in the Upper Connecticut River Valley, on the Vermont border. Cultural opportunities are enhanced by Dartmouth College, and the area is renowned for 4 season outdoor activities including skiing, hiking, cycling and water sports. This is an opportunity for an academic career in a setting where others vacation, easily accessible to the cities of Boston, Montreal, and New York. Quality of life for young families and local public schools are excellent.
