Furst Group is proud to be partnering with Akron Children’s Hospital to identify a transformative human resource professional to join the executive leadership team as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at an exciting time of continued growth. This exceptional opportunity will provide an innovative, progressive professional the platform to showcase his/her skills and expertise building an industry-leading HR program that aligns talent management with the aggressive strategic goals for the hospital. This key leader will also play an integral role in serving civic organizations in the Northeast Ohio community that, along with Akron Children’s Hospital, are working to coordinate care and improve access and quality of care delivered while reducing socioeconomic barriers.
Akron Children's Hospital is one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the United States, and is ranked among the best children's hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Its dedicated staff of more than 6,000 teammates handles nearly 800,000 patient visits each year through two hospital campuses and a large network of locations offering primary and specialty care.
The CHRO is responsible for the strategic management and delivery of all people programs, policies, processes, and practices in support of the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities. A demonstrated ability to create and communicate a vision for HR and successfully develop and execute a human resources strategic plan coupled with the utilization of data analytics to support and enable rigorous strategic decision-making will be critical to success in this role.
Qualified candidates for the CHRO position will be master’s prepared and bring more than 12 years of experience gained through management positions of increasing responsibility within human resources, with a minimum of three years of recent experience as the top human resources executive leading major HR change initiatives in a large-scale, complex organization. This person will have a human resources generalist background coupled with strong knowledge of compensation and benefits. An understanding of the healthcare field is preferred but not required.
