ISEC - Work with PIs, departments, Colleges and Provost's office to coordinate, facilitate, and provide logistical support for laboratory operations for research and teaching lab activities in the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex. Assists with activities and equipment associated with core research facilities in the ISEC; facilitates certification and maintenance of safety equipment; assists PIs and departments with ensuring training for personnel seeking access to laboratory and equipment; serves as a liaison with University Department of Environmental Health & Safety, assisting with ensuring laboratory and core facilities meet safety and regulatory standards; serves as a liaison with University Facilities Division to assist with maintaining laboratory and core facility spaces; works with service technicians for scheduling of maintenance and repairs.
Mugar 111 lab (Chemical Engineering) - Coordinate, facilitate, and provide logistical support for laboratory operations for all research activities that occur in first floor shared laboratory 111 of the Mugar Life Sciences Building. Assist with all activities associated with teaching within this facility; supervise and administer all activities and equipment associated with the core research facility in the building; insure all equipment is properly maintained and serviced and that all personnel seeking access to laboratory and equipment are properly trained; serve as principle liaison with University Department of Environmental Health & Safety, insuring laboratory and core facilities meet all safety and regulatory standards and students and equipment are in compliance; serve as principle liaison with University Facilities Division insuring all laboratory and core facility services are maintained; and serve as principle liaison with University Facilities Division as any modifications, and/or improvements, are made to the laboratory or core facility.
Both a Bachelors degree and at 4 6 years of experience working in academic laboratory operations in a shared laboratory setting are required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required together with excellent computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook). Ability to work well with others, strong organizational skills and a problem-solving mindset required. Knowledge of, and experience with, the culture of research and administrative systems of Northeastern University strongly preferred.
