Job Posting: Summary of Essential Job Duties: The Clinical Nurse III provides nursing care consistent with Nursing Standards of Care/Practice, the Plan for Provision of Nursing Care, and the Plan for Provision of Care to Patients, CSMC Code of Conduct, the Performance Improvement Plan, the Patient Education Plan and Nursing Strategic Plan.Clinical Nurse III assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. The Clinical Nurse III consistently demonstrates professional skills and abilities, utilizes his/her knowledge base and proficiency skills to direct and supervise the clinical performance of others in the role of collegial consultants and resource personnel. Demonstrates motivation and creativity and serves as a catalyst for effective changes within nursing at the unit service and institutional levels. Applies clinical knowledge regarding standard pattern of care to consolidate interventions for time and cost savings. May assume responsibility for patient advocacy, patient rights, and meeting customers' expectations. He/she can identify safety concerns and institute measures to provide a safe environmental and provide appropriate assessment, intervention and evaluation of patients with consideration of developmental milestones in the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population. The Clinical Nurse III, under the direction of the Associate Director, performs a variety of tasks specific to the needs of the patient population at the Pain Center in both a busy procedural and ambulatory clinic setting. Some of the tasks include but are not limited to: completing patient pre-procedure intake, witnessing procedure consents, starting IV access (including port access), assisting in the procedure as a circulator including basic sterile tray set up, close monitoring and assessment of post-anesthesia/post-procedure patients; calling patients for pre op instructions, chart navigation during clinic visits, handling pharmacy refill requests, following-up on pending test results, ability to perform telephone triage, and communicate with Physicians appropriately and directly, respond to email requests. Proficient in EPIC (CS-link) charting and navigation. Educational Requirements: BSN License/Certification/Registration Requirements: Active California Registered Nurse License, AHS ACLS, BLS, Board of Specialty Certified, Pain Certification Certified preferred. Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of Acute Care experience in a hospital setting Procedural, Critical Care, OR, Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Cath Lab, Emergency Room, Proficient IV skills preferred Physical Demands: Ability to stand, sit, lift (30 pounds), carry, and pull. Physically demanding environment requires frequent standing, walking throughout shift.
