Part Time 20 hours Grade 094 Del Monte Inst Neuroscience Schedule VARIES; OCC WKENDS Responsibilities Position Summary: The Radiologic Technologist MRI, under the direction of the Rochester Center for Brain Imaging (RCBI) Director and the Radiologic Technologist MRI-Lead, is accountable for provision of MRI procedures in a research environment. The Radiologic Technologist MRI contributes to the Departmentâ™s activities and supports enhancement of the care provided at the department level. The Radiologic Technologist MRI supports researchers and their teams in the delivery of RCBI MRI services. The Radiologic Technologist MRI provides expert care to research participants (human and animal), serves as a resource, consults as requested and communicates effectively with all internal and external customers. The Radiologic Technologist MRI will perform MRI exams safely, efficiently, and of high quality. The position is located at the RCBI. Responsibilities: Sets up and utilizes all MRI equipment including imaging coils, patient monitoring systems, and related articles Performs appropriate MRI examination on properly identified research participant in a safe and timely manner Evaluates image quality by troubleshooting scanner or coil problems and scan parameters Identifies and compensates for imaging artifacts Reviews MRI registration and screening form thoroughly in order to confirm safe access into magnet room Assists in training new MRI Technologists and students Performs all filming, archiving, and network data management for each research participant scanned Retrieves old MRI data for restoration and filming or networking if needed Masters new techniques with each subsequent scanner upgrade Maintains CE credits and ARRT/NYS license Communicates all pertinent research participant information to necessary researchers and their students and staff Reviews and monitors exam schedule and provides technical communication as needed Qualifications: New York State Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist Successful completion of orientation, including required competencies American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification with current CE credits 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team Must have well developed verbal and written communication skills being able to interpret and provide clear instructions to the research participant so that they understand the procedure Must create a positive interface between the Rochester Center for Brain Imaging (RCBI) and all of its internal and external customers Practices appropriate infection control techniques before and after each exam
